Ryder is just about finished with his PreK work! He has a huge binder filled with all the papers and activities he did throughout this school year. This coming Monday will be his last day at CC! Then it is summer break! August 1st is the day I have set to start Kindergarten with Ryder! We are both so excited! I thought I would share the Kindergarten Curriculum that I decided to use.
I ordered an all-inclusive Kindergarten curriculum from My Father's World (www.mfwbooks.com). I am so excited about this curriculum! I have been busy separating everything into each unit, gathering books, and tweaking the lesson plans! I love that My Father's World comes in a big box with everything you need for a whole school year. Even lesson plans! I purchased the deluxe package and also the literature package to have at least a book per unit if I am unable to find additional books at our super small library in town.
Here is what the website says about the curriculum: A year-long hands-on learning adventure for young children. This complete kindergarten curriculum contains all necessary subjects and is ideal for homeschool. The first two weeks focus on the Creation story from Genesis, followed by 26 hands-on, easy-to-teach thematic units that focus on the wonders in God's creation. The sun, moon, rocks, vegetables, elephants, butterflies, and dinosaurs are just a few of the exciting topics you will explore.
Subjects include: Reading/Phonics, Math, Bible, Science, Creative Thinking, Literature, Art, Music, and Character Development!
I have decided to add another Math. My Father's World K and 1st grade curriculums integrate Math and then add a formal Math starting in 2nd. I wanted to go ahead and do a formal Math that I could continue all the way through if it works for our family. Abeka is the program I decided to purchase!
This is a full Math curriculum that is actually used in many private schools all over the US and they have a homeschool curriculum too! I purchased the Curriculum Guide, Writing Tablet, and Workbook.
Ryder is SO excited about starting Kindergarten! Hurry up August :)
