WEEK 30

BIBLE/HISTORY

The memory verse for this week was "If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink." Proverbs 25:21 Ryder practiced handwriting by writing out the Bible verse and he went over the verse daily. We also reviewed the books of the Bible and put the 12 apostles on the timeline.

 

 READING/LANGUAGE ARTS

Ryder had several handwriting and phonics worksheets. He did First Language Lessons Level 1 Lesson 95 and 96. He did All About Spelling Level 1 Lesson 21 and All About Reading Level 3 Lesson 54. He is done with All About Reading Level 3 now! He continued with reading a story from his Bible Reader about Jesus calling Matthew, the 12 apostles, the farmer and his seeds, and the storm that Jesus calmed. And he illustrated the stories in his Bible notebook.

 MATH

Ryder finished Lessons 112 through 115 in Horizons Math 1. 

 SCIENCE
This week we talked about waves and the boys made waves with a string tied to the door!

 ART
Ryder continued with "Enjoying Art Together" this week. We studied the artwork "Portrait of a Nubian" by Peder Monsted. Ryder did a great job examining the picture and answering questions about the painting.

 PRESCHOOL for MERCER

This week Mercer worked in several workbooks with tracing, matching, and coloring!

WEEK 29

BIBLE/HISTORY

The memory verse for this week was "Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not ignore it." Proverbs 8:33 Ryder practiced handwriting by writing out the Bible verse and he went over the verse daily. We also reviewed the books of the Bible.

 

 READING/LANGUAGE ARTS

Ryder had several handwriting and phonics worksheets. He did First Language Lessons Level 1 Lesson 94. He did All About Spelling Level 1 Lesson 20 and All About Reading Level 3 Lesson 53. He continued with reading a story from his Bible Reader about when Jesus was a boy, when Jesus was baptized, the fishermen, and the healing of the man on the mat. And he illustrated the stories in his Bible notebook.

 MATH

Ryder finished Lessons 108 through 111 in Horizons Math 1. He got a 30/31 on Test #11.

  ART
Ryder continued with "Enjoying Art Together" this week. We studied the artwork "Girls at the Piano" by Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Ryder did a great job examining the picture and answering questions about the painting.

 PRESCHOOL for MERCER

This week Mercer did several activities, but he loved doing this sticker book this week!

WEEK 28

BIBLE/HISTORY

The memory verse for this week was "The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out." Proverbs 10:9 Ryder practiced handwriting by writing out the Bible verse and he went over the verse daily. We also learned about the books of the Bible Jude and Revelation. We studied Esther, Rebuilding Jerusalem, the Angel speaking to Mary, and the birth of Jesus. He colored Esther, Rebuilding Jerusalem, and Baby Jesus and put it on the timeline. We also discussed the Greek Alphabet and Ryder copied it.

 

 READING/LANGUAGE ARTS

Ryder had several handwriting and phonics worksheets. He did First Language Lessons Level 1 Lessons 91-93. He did All About Spelling Level 1 Lesson 19. He continued with reading a story from his Bible Reader about the rebuilding Jerusalem, an angel speaking to Mary, and the birth of Jesus. And he illustrated the stories in his Bible notebook.

 MATH

Ryder finished Lessons 104 through 107 in Horizons Math 1.

 ART
Ryder continued with "Enjoying Art Together" this week. We studied the artwork "The Beach" by Laura Knight. Ryder did a great job examining the picture and answering questions about the painting.

 PRESCHOOL for MERCER

This week Mercer did several activities - his tracing workbook, practiced tracing his name, and several fun games!

WEEK 27

BIBLE/HISTORY

The memory verse for this week was "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." Proverbs 18:10 Ryder practiced handwriting by writing out the Bible verse and he went over the verse daily. We also learned about the books of the Bible 2 Peter through 3 John . We studied the Babylonia Conquest, the Fiery Furnace, and Daniel and the Lions. He colored the Fiery Furnace and a lion and put it on the timeline.

 

 READING/LANGUAGE ARTS

Ryder did Lesson 51 and 52 in All About Reading Level 3. He also had several handwriting and phonics worksheets. He did First Language Lessons Level 1 Lessons 90. He did All About Spelling Level 1 Lesson 18. He continued with reading a story from his Bible Reader about the Babylonia Conquest, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and Daniel and the Lions. And he illustrated the stories in his Bible notebook

 MATH

Ryder finished Lessons 101 through 103 in Horizons Math 1.

 

ART
Ryder continued with "Enjoying Art Together" this week. We studied the artwork "Rue de Paris, Wet Weather" by Gustave Caillebotte. Ryder did a great job examining the picture and answering questions about the painting.
