WEEK 26

BIBLE/HISTORY
The memory verse for this week was "There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord." Proverbs 21:30 Ryder practiced handwriting by writing out the Bible verse and he went over the verse daily. We also learned about the books of the Bible Philemon through 1 Peter. We studied the Elijah and King Ahab, Elisha healed Naaman, and Jonah. He colored Elijah, Elisha, and Jonah and put it on the timeline.
 



 READING/LANGUAGE ARTS
Ryder did Lesson 49 and 50 in All About Reading Level 3. He also had several handwriting and phonics worksheets. He did First Language Lessons Level 1 Lessons 87 through 89. He did All About Spelling Level 1 Lesson 17. He continued with reading a story from his Bible Reader about Elijah, Elisha and Naaman, and Jonah. And he illustrated the stories in his Bible notebook.

 MATH
Ryder finished Lessons 97 through 100 in Horizons Math 1. He got a 23/24 on Test #10.
 ART
Ryder continued with "Enjoying Art Together" this week. We studied the artwork "Mona Lisa" by Leonardo da Vinci. Ryder did a great job examining the picture and answering questions about the painting.
 PRESCHOOL for MERCER
This week Mercer did the letter Y this week. He also worked in a Kumon Tracing Workbook.

WEEK 25

This week was a light week and we didn't add anything extra into our My Father's World study due to two kiddos with the flu!
 
BIBLE/HISTORY
The memory verse for this week was "Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.." Proverbs 29:25 Ryder practiced handwriting by writing out the Bible verse and he went over the verse daily. We also learned about the books of the Bible 2 Thessalonians through Titus. We studied David and Goliath, King David, King Solomon, and Israel splitting into two countries. He colored King David, King Soloman, and the split of Israel and put it on the timeline.


 READING/LANGUAGE ARTS
Ryder had several handwriting and phonics worksheets. He continued with reading a story from his Bible Reader about David and Goliath and Soloman. And he illustrated the stories in his Bible notebook.


 MATH
Ryder finished Lessons 94 through 96 in Horizons Math 1.
 ART
Ryder continued with "Enjoying Art Together" this week. We studied the artwork "Towboats along the Yotsugi-Dori Canal" by Ando Hiroshige. Ryder did a great job examining the picture and answering questions about the painting.

WEEK 24

BIBLE/HISTORY
The memory verse for this week was "The faithless will be fully repaid for their ways, and the good man rewarded for his." Proverbs 14:14 Ryder practiced handwriting by writing out the Bible verse and he went over the verse daily. We also learned about the books of the Bible Ephesians through 1 Thessalonians. We studied the Ruth, Samson, and King Saul. He colored Ruth and Naomi, Samson, and King Saul and put it on the timeline.

 READING/LANGUAGE ARTS
Ryder did Lesson 46 through 48 in All About Reading Level 3. He also had several handwriting and phonics worksheets. He did First Language Lessons Level 1 Lessons 82 through 86. He did All About Spelling Level 1 Lesson 16. He continued with reading a story from his Bible Reader about Ruth and Samson. And he illustrated the stories in his Bible notebook.

 MATH
Ryder finished Lessons 90 through 93 in Horizons Math 1. He got a 30/30 on Test #9.

 ART
Ryder continued with "Enjoying Art Together" this week. We studied the artwork "Bouquet of Flowers on a Ledge" by Ambrosius Bosschaert. Ryder did a great job examining the picture and answering questions about the painting.

This week Mercer did the letter X this week.

WEEK 23

BIBLE/HISTORY
The memory verse for this week was "Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control." Proverbs 25:28 Ryder practiced handwriting by writing out the Bible verse and he went over the verse daily. All week we reviewed the definition of gratefulness. We also learned about the books of the Bible Romans through Galatians. We studied the battle of Jericho, Israel and the judges, and Samuel. He colored Jericho and Samuel to put on the timeline.
 


 READING/LANGUAGE ARTS
Ryder did Lesson 44 and 45 in All About Reading Level 3. He also had several handwriting and phonics worksheets. He did First Language Lessons Level 1 Lessons 77 through 81. He continued with reading a story from his Bible Reader about the battle of Jericho and Samuel. And he illustrated the stories in his Bible notebook.
 MATH
Ryder finished Lessons 85 through 89 in Horizons Math 1.
 SCIENCE
This week we studied about vanishing water.
 ART
Ryder continued with "Enjoying Art Together" this week. We studied the artwork "Tahitian Landscape" by Paul Gauguin. Ryder did a great job examining the picture and answering questions about the painting.
