WEEK 34

BIBLE/HISTORY
The memory verse for this week was "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails.." Proverbs 19:21 Ryder practiced handwriting by writing out the Bible verse and he went over the verse daily. We also reviewed the books of the Bible and added Paul becoming a believer and the new Heaven and new Earth to the timeline. This finishes out our timeline for the year!


 READING/LANGUAGE ARTS
Ryder continued with reading a story from his Bible Reader about the church growing, Stephen and Saul, Peter being in jail, and the new Heaven and new Earth. And he illustrated the stories in his Bible notebook.

 MATH
Ryder finished Lessons 127 through 129 in Horizons Math 1.
 ART
Ryder continued with "Enjoying Art Together" this week. We studied the artwork "The Artist's Garden at Vetheuil" by Claude Monet. Ryder did a great job examining the picture and answering questions about the painting.



Ryder is officially done with the My Father's World portion of his 1st grade school year! He has about 30 more Math lessons that we will finish up over the next 6 weeks. We will also continue with handwriting and we will go ahead and start All About Reading Level 4 over the summer! We will have a very light summer with fun activities mixed in!

WEEK 33

BIBLE/HISTORY
The memory verse for this week was "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise." Proverbs 10:1 Ryder practiced handwriting by writing out the Bible verse and he went over the verse daily. We also reviewed the books of the Bible and added the Death and Resurrection of Jesus to the timeline.
 


 READING/LANGUAGE ARTS
Ryder had several handwriting and phonics worksheets. He finished All About Spelling Level 1 by doing Lesson 24. He continued with reading a story from his Bible Reader about Jesus dying on the cross and rising from the dead, Jesus going back to Heaven, and the day of Pentecost. And he illustrated the stories in his Bible notebook.

 MATH
Ryder finished Lessons 123 through 126 in Horizons Math 1.
 ART
Ryder continued with "Enjoying Art Together" this week. We studied the artwork "Snap the Whip" by Winslow Homer. Ryder did a great job examining the picture and answering questions about the painting.
 PRESCHOOL for MERCER
This week Mercer drew his first person figure!

WEEK 32

BIBLE/HISTORY
The memory verse for this week was "A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son grief to his mother." Proverbs 10:1 Ryder practiced handwriting by writing out the Bible verse and he went over the verse daily. We also reviewed the books of the Bible.
 

 READING/LANGUAGE ARTS
Ryder had several handwriting and phonics worksheets. He did First Language Lessons Level 1 Final Grammar Review. He also did All About Spelling Level 1 Lesson 22 and 23. He continued with reading a story from his Bible Reader about the lost son, the blind man, Zacchaeus, and the last supper. And he illustrated the stories in his Bible notebook.


 MATH
Ryder finished Lessons 119 through 122 in Horizons Math 1. He got a 49/51 on Test #20.
 ART
Ryder continued with "Enjoying Art Together" this week. We studied the artwork "The Pottery Maker" by Gerald Cassidy. Ryder did a great job examining the picture and answering questions about the painting.
 PRESCHOOL for MERCER
This week Mercer worked in several workbooks.

WEEK 31

BIBLE/HISTORY
The memory verse for this week was "A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor." Proverbs 22:9 Ryder practiced handwriting by writing out the Bible verse and he went over the verse daily. We also reviewed the books of the Bible.
 

 READING/LANGUAGE ARTS
Ryder had several handwriting and phonics worksheets. He did First Language Lessons Level 1 Lesson 97 through 100. He continued with reading a story from his Bible Reader about the dead girl being raised from the dead, Jesus feeding the 5000, the good Samaritan, and the lost coin. And he illustrated the stories in his Bible notebook.

 MATH
Ryder finished Lessons 116 through 118 in Horizons Math 1.
 ART
Ryder continued with "Enjoying Art Together" this week. We studied the artwork "Delicious Solitude" by Frank Bramley. Ryder did a great job examining the picture and answering questions about the painting.
