BIBLE
The Bible verse this week was Revelation 17:14, "...the Lamb... is Lord of lords and King of kings..." We talked about the instructions that the Lord has given us in the Bible of how we should live and love one another and we also discussed the meaning of kings and kingdoms.
SPELLING
Ryder did Lesson 25 and got a 12/12 on his spelling test.
ENGLISH
Ryder did Unit 4 Lessons 13-16. He also completed Lesson 10 of Wordly Wise.
HISTORY
This week Ryder studied the states Iowa and Wisconsin! He colored the state bird and flower, learned the capital, and wrote the state abbreviation. He also found the states on the map of the USA. Ryder also learned about Captain Sutter and his discovery of gold in California. He added the California Gold Rush to the timeline. We read chapters 27-31 of "On the Banks of Plum Creek."

HEALTH
This week Ryder learned about safety with handling sharp objects such as knives and scissors.
MATH
Ryder did Lessons 97-100. He got a 55/57 on Test #10. And he also did Life of Fred Butterflies Lesson 14.
ART
This week Ryder looks at several artwork pieces from the Gold Rush. He made observations about what was in the different areas of landscapes and the different complementary colors.
MUSIC
We listened to the song "You're a Grand Old Flag" and "Stars and Stripes Forever."
PRESCHOOL
This week Mercer did activities for the letters "v," "w" and "x." He also worked on activities to decipher words with different vowel sounds.
SCIENCE
This week the class had their Valentine's party! They had yummy food, passed out valentines, made Valentine Trail Mix, and had a science experiment using the sweethearts candy! They had a blast :)
