WEEK 13

BIBLE
We continued our Matthew study this week and finished Chapter 5 and read just a little bit in Chapter 6.

LANGUAGE ARTS
Ryder did Spelling Lesson 13 and got a 16/16 on his spelling test.
They both did handwriting.
Ryder did lesson 16 this week in English.
Mercer did Lesson 25-26 in All About Reading Level 1.
Ryder had reading time every day. He read "Flat Stanley's Worldwide Adventures: The Flying Chinese Wonders."
We read several chapters in our read aloud "Bash and the Pirate Pigs."

GEOGRAPHY
Tuesday was election day! So we spent the day watching videos and doing fun worksheets to learn about the White House, the election/candidates, etc!

The other days this week we studied Argentina! We read about the country in our Usborne geography encyclopedia, located it on our world map, did a few worksheets including coloring the country and the flag, we read about Carlitos who lives in Argentina, read country facts, and watched a few videos on Iguazu Falls which is the widest waterfall in the world located in Argentina and the tango dance which originated in Argentina.

MATH
Mercer did lessons 50-52 in Horizons Math. Ryder did lessons 13-15 in Teaching Textbooks.

SCIENCE
We did Apologia Land Animals Lesson 3 this week which was all about bears! We read some Usborne books too that were about bears. We love doing the Apologia Junior Notebook Journals too!

 ART
This week we completed our art project at co-op. It was a yarn art project. They made a snake out of yarn!

MUSIC
This week we listened to our Geography Songs CD on the South American countries. Hopefully we will have this song memorized and know all the countries in South America by the time we are done studying the countries we have planned to study from this continent!

Co-Op
This week in co-op the kids did their Argentina flag worksheet, their yarn art project, and did a speech on a fact that they learned about Argentina for geography.

For the science portion, they learned all about transpiration!
