The letter is Qq
These were our books this week.
  MATH
Ryder is working on Math Lessons for the Living Education Book 1.
PHONICS
Ryder had several phonics and handwriting worksheets this week. He has completed All About Reading Level 1! And Lesson 1 of All About Reading Level 2. We also read the poem "All Things Bright and Beautiful."

  BIBLE/SCIENCE
For Bible, we learned about God's people in the Old Testament complaining about having no food to eat. Also, we studied about Paul and Silas and how when they were in prison they did not complain, but prayed and sang hymns.
We learned about crows, pigeons, and hummingbirds. Specifically that each one flap their wings a different number of times per second. Crows twice a second, pigeons three times a second, and hummingbirds 70 times a second! Very fast! And we practiced to see if we could flap our arms 70 times in one second.
The boys tried lemons. They didn't like them, but didn't complain about their snack. So, then I took the lemons and made lemonade and they saw what happened when they are thankful and don't complain!

We learned that a mother quail lays 10-15 eggs in her nest. The eggs are light brown with dark brown splotches and are 1" long. We made our own quail eggs out of oats and peanut butter. Then we compared them to chicken eggs!
We made a bird feeder out of popcorn and string!
 MUSIC
This week the boys listened to Saint-Saens: Carnival of the Animals and pretended to be birds.
