WEEK 8

BIBLE/HISTORY
The memory verse for this week was "He who gathers crops in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son." Proverbs 10:5. Ryder practiced handwriting by writing out the Bible verse and he went over the verse daily. Each morning we also did a devotional from "My Big Book of 5-minute Devotionals." We continued our daily review of the character trait enthusiasm.

 READING/LANGUAGE ARTS
Ryder did Lesson 12 and 13 in All About Reading Level 3. He also had several handwriting and phonics worksheets. He did First Language Lessons Level 1 Lessons 14 through 18.

 MATH
Ryder finished Lessons 23 through 26 in Horizons Math 1.

 SCIENCE
The topic was "Rain." We read the Usborne book: Things Outdoors and several read-aloud books about rain.
 ART
This week Ryder colored "Tiger" by an unknown Chinese artist. This tiger picture was made by a traditional Chinese artist. In China, the tiger is a symbol of courage. The artist cut out a delicate paper shape and then painted it. The main color is red, which in China is the color of happiness and good fortune.
 PRESCHOOL for MERCER
This week Mercer did the letter H and the number 8.
