WEEK 20

BIBLE/HISTORY
The memory verse for this week was "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." Proverbs 3:5 Ryder practiced handwriting by writing out the Bible verse and he went over the verse daily. We started a new character trait that we will be learning and reviewing for the next 4 weeks. This month we are focusing on gratefulness. On Monday, the boys watched a nature story about porcupines. The rest of the week we reviewed the definition of gratefulness. We also learned about the books of the Bible Micah through Zephaniah. We studied the burning bush, the ten plagues, and the Passover/leaving Egypt.

 READING/LANGUAGE ARTS
Ryder did Lesson 37 and 38 in All About Reading Level 3. He also had several handwriting and phonics worksheets. He did First Language Lessons Level 1 Lessons 67 through 69. He continued with reading a story from his Bible Reader about the burning bush and the ten plagues. And he illustrated the stories in his Bible notebook. He also did All About Spelling Level 1 Lessons 13 and 14.
 MATH
Ryder finished Lessons 73 through 76 in Horizons Math 1.

SCIENCE
The topic was "Floating." We read the Usborne book: Science with Water and did a science project to see which items would float and which ones would sink. The more heavy the object the more it sank.

ART
Ryder continued with "Enjoying Art Together" this week. We studied the artwork "Lady with an Ermine" by Leonardo da Vinci. Ryder did a great job examining the picture and answering questions about the painting.

PRESCHOOL for MERCER
This week Mercer did the letter T this week.
