BIBLE
We continued our Matthew study this week and read some of Chapter 5. We also read about Cuba in "Window on the World." Ryder colored a sheet of a Mexican boy with John 3:16 written in Spanish.
LANGUAGE ARTS
Ryder did Spelling Lesson 9 and got a 15/16 on his spelling test.
They both did handwriting.
Ryder did lesson 7 and 8 this week in English.
Mercer did Lesson 18 and 19 in All About Reading Level 1.
Ryder had reading time every day. He finished "Flat Stanley's Worldwide Adventures: The Great Egyptian Grave Robbery" and started "Flat Stanley's Worldwide Adventures: The Amazing Mexican Secret."
We did not read any in our read aloud book this week ~ "Bash and the Pirate Pigs" ~ because I am coughing and have bronchitis...
GEOGRAPHY
This week we started our country study of Mexico! We read about Mexico in the Children's Atlas of God's World and Usborne Encyclopedia of Geography, counted to 10 in Spanish, found Mexico on the map, read about a little boy named Omar who lives in Mexico, watched a video of the underwater city of Tenochtitlan, and looked at pictures of the Aztec Temple - Chichen Itza which is the 4th Wonder of the World. The geography-themed vocabulary words that Ryder learned about this week were desert and dune.
MATH
The boys did lessons 33-36.

SCIENCE
This week we did Lesson 10 in Apologia Land Animals about Squamates (Lizards, Snakes, etc.)
The boys also learned about deserts and colored the areas on a map that are desert areas.
MUSIC
This week we listened to WeeSing Songs "PinPon" and "Tingalayo."
Co-Op
This week in co-op the kids made Mexican Sun Face Pottery. Next week they will paint them once they dry! They also had tortilla chips for a snack for Mexico!

For Science they matched different pictures of reptiles/amphibians to their definition and they made mini pop-up books.
They also played a game where they had to put pantyhose on their arms and try and "shed" their skin! This was such a cute idea!
