LANGUAGE ARTS
Mercer did Lesson 11 and 12 in All About Reading Level 3, finished WriteShop Level A, week 13 of his Daily Reading Practice workbook, 6 pages in Explode the Code Book 3, and Lesson 9 in handwriting.

Ryder did Fit It Grammar Week 14 on adjectives, took 2 timed reading tests, did week 13 of his Daily Reading Practice workbook, and did 3 pages in his Word Roots workbook. He also worked on Spelling through Spelling City and Natural Speller and had a test.

MATH
Mercer did Day 104-111 in his Easy Peasy Math workbook.
Ryder did Lessons 54-56 and took quiz #8 in Teaching Textbooks 5. He also used XtraMath online to work on his Math Facts.

 SCIENCE
Mercer learned about farm animals, zoo animals, and taking care of animals.
Ryder started chapter 6 about Light. He learned about light characteristics, properties of light, light and matter, luminous, nonluminous, transparent, translucent, and opaque.

SOCIAL STUDIES/HISTORY/GEOGRAPHY
Both boys did Week 16 in their geography workbooks.
Mercer studied about Canada this week.
Ryder learned about the congressional staff, working on Capitol Hill, the office of the Vice President, and the Library of Congress. Ryder also learned about the Presidents McKinley and Roosevelt. He finished the book "Brighty" this week too.

BIBLE
We read Chapter 2 of The Ology about God is Three in One.

CRITICAL THINKING
The boys each did 4 pages in their critical thinking workbooks.

MUSIC
This week the kids learned about the trumpet. They listened to music played by the trumpet.

TOT SCHOOL
This week was a lighter week because I had to babysit 3 kids one day and Eva wasn't feeling great. We reviewed all the colors and animals we have learned so far, matched mittens to the kitten's coat, read about A Blind Man named Bartimaeus in the Preschooler's Bible, and colored greeting cards.

And just for laughs... it was a bad case of the Monday's and trying to get into the groove again after a holiday for Mercer Man!
