BIBLE
We read verses in the Bible that talked about when people began to speak different languages, that there is only one God for the whole world, that the good news is for all people, and that in Heaven we will worship God together with people from all parts of the world! We also read about Judaism in Window on the World. The boys made these John 3:16 posters in their Thursday Co-op class!
LANGUAGE ARTS
Ryder did Spelling Lesson 2 and got a 100 on his spelling test.
They both did handwriting.
Ryder did Lessons 5-8 in English. He studied more about subjects and predicates and also started learning simple diagramming.
Mercer did Lessons 4-6 in All About Reading Level 1.
Ryder had reading time every day. He finished "The Fenway Foul-Up" and started The Magic Tree House Book #2: "The Knight at Dawn."
We read aloud the first 2 chapters in Kingdom Tales. The boys complained miserably about this book, so I decided to put it away and start on another book. So, we started "Bash and the Chocolate Milk Cows" and have read 2 chapters so far!
I love seeing my big boy read to my little boy!
GEOGRAPHY
We finished the rest of the book "Maps and Globes." We talked about latitude/longitude, elevation/depth, and all different kinds of maps (physical, political, local, etc.) Ryder labeled the different oceans on his map from last week. We are in the process of learning our new address. The boys drew a map on how to get from their new house to church including different landmarks and symbols. I traced Ryder's hand on a 1-in grid and he had to transfer the drawing to a 1/2" grid. He did great trying! Ryder is learning geography-themed vocabulary words that go along with what we are learning. This week he learned ocean and ocean ridge.
MATH

And they worked in their Apologia Land Animal Jr. Notebook ~ Lesson 1!
The girls came with me this week! I won't normally have them because my mom will watch them at home, but they had a blast this week playing in the playroom!
