The geography-themed vocabulary word that Ryder learned about this week was continental divide.

SCIENCE
This week we did an overview lesson on plant life and animal life - how they reproduce, how the get food, etc. So we did this experiment with celery. I removed the xylem (which carries the water up to the leaves) on the right celery stalk. We watched for 48 hours to see which one wilted the fastest... the one with the xylem still intact or the one without...

After:
The celery without the xylem was really wilting!
MUSIC
The boys listened to "Going Over the Sea" on the WeeSing CD. We also listened to a geography song to help learn the provinces of Canada.
